Patient admitted with GSW to abdomen (critical) and thigh (superficial).
Thigh injury determined to be flesh wound, superficial. Complicated by fact that bullet remained inside wound. Following x-ray and consultation, decision made to leave bullet in thigh.
Severe trauma to abdomen & surrounding tissues incl intestines. Stabilized and received successful reparative surgery.
Placed in amn. tube for 12hrs, in order to raise chances of survival to acceptable level. After 12hr session, reconsider and review treatment options. In-patient RnR if tubes unavailable, otherwise consider extra tube sessions for expedited recovery.
Prescription: penicillin 500mg 4x pd., 500mg paracetamol+9.6g codeine, loperamide, nutritional supplements
