Mobile Infantry Organization

The Mobile Infantry was first properly organized on April 4th 2100 when SICON was initially founded. It has ever since been tied to that order of battle, naturally, over the course of almost 200 years, many Battalions have been shuffled from frontline to frontline, have been disbanded or otherwise reorganized. The Mobile Infantry organization was very rigid and inflexible, only being organized into an army with six divisions, 4 regiments each and then three Battalions. This has led to an an odd numbering system, such as the 4th Infantry Division housing not only the 23rd, 24th, 25th and 31st Morita Regiment, but also oddly numbered Battalions such as the 27th, 41st, 112th, 88th and 202nd.

Lessons have been learned following the decimation after the Progenitor attack and the Order of Battle has been reestabilished to counter communication and organization issues and to maximize logistics. After the Civil War, the Mobile Infantry has been completely overhauled, Battalions have been re-named or reshuffled.

The new organization allows one army to be effectively in charge of a large territory. It is often split into two divisions, who make up the bulk of planetary forces and two corps, which are Mobile Infantry units with Fleet assets (based on Starships).

Leadership structure

Each army consists of four Divisions (173.397 men total) and is commanded by a General and answers directly to the Sky Marshal.

A Division, also called Corps when combined with Fleet assets, consists of four brigades (43.349 Troopers total) and is commanded by a Lieutenant General

Each Brigade (10.837 Troopers) consists of four Regiments and is being commanded by a Brigadier General or Colonel.

Each Regiment (2.709 Troopers) consists of four Battalions and is being commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel.

Each Battalion (677 Troopers) consists of four Companies and is being commanded by a Major.

Each Company (169 Troopers) consists of four Platoons and is being commanded by a Captain.

Each Platoon (42 Troopers) consists of four Squads and is being commanded by a Lieutenant.

Each Squad consists of 10 Troopers and is usually being commanded by a Sergeant or Corporal.
